Human Keys for Everyone!
We believe technology should be built in with natural digital rights for privacy, security and ownership. We invented Human Keys to make these digital rights as immutable and resilient as the underlying decentralized infrastructure that powers it.
Humanitarian Aid & Digital Rights Hacakthon with Funding the Commons
We’re excited to proliferate the adoption of Human Keys in partnership with Funding the Commons. that Holonym will be sponsoring a month-long hackathon with Funding the Commons and Earth Commons.
Holonym will provide developer support and up to $15,000 in rewards for the hackathon. The event will bring together builders from around the world to develop innovative solutions for public goods funding that utilize privacy, key security, and identity technology.
The hackathon will be a hybrid in-person/remote event that runs from October 7 to November 7. The winners of the hackathon challenges will be announced at the conference on November 8th and 9th.
Hackathon participants will work closely with the Holonym dev team to build solutions at the intersection of crypto and real world. Developers will be challenged to submit solutions in the privacy & identity track:
Challenge 1: Universal Personhood Issuer ($7,000) - How do we prove personhood of an undocumented refugee? Utilize Zeronym and the Silk SDKs to create a "Refugee Identity Issuer" that allows undocumented individuals in refugee camps to prove that they are a unique human with specific status (such as a verified refugee at a camp). Bonus points for extending this beyond refugee status.
Challenge 2: Simple Remittances & P2P Payments ($3,000, x2) - Sending payments with crypto should be easier than opening a bank account. Utilize the Silk wallet in a dApp to 1) onboard users with socials or email, 2) onramp with no KYC, 3) receive/send payments via text/email. Bonus points for novel applications utilizing other DeFi primitives, activations over web2 platforms, tested in the wild with real world impact.
Challenge 3: Unstoppable Civic Infrastructure ($2000) - How do we build resilient systems for voting, crowdfunding, direct aid, and coordination by people around the world? Utilize any of Holonym's technology to build unstoppable civic infrastructure that can empower people to persist in collective governance even when IRL institutions malfunction.
Now that we’ve shared the exciting news, let’s dive into the updates from Q3
