The first quarter of 2024 was bigger than ever us! More than 80 percent of our total users joined by the end of Q1, indicating strong adoption and where growth complements a shift towards more user-friendly UX, making Zero-Knowledge technology accessible to a broader audience.

We’re thrilled to reflect on the significant milestones achieved and the exciting journey ahead. Here’s the recap!

January was jam packed with updates:

2024 Roadmap Unveiled: We began the year with the unveiling of our ambitious roadmap, outlining the release of Holonym v3, the open beta of Silk, and our commitment to further decentralization, 🔜🐈‍⬛.
Glo Consortium Partnership: Holonym Foundation joined forces with the Glo Consortium to strengthen our ecosystem, pledging a significant portion of our treasury to Glo Dollars to support philanthropy.
Optimism Network Dominance: Holonym ZK proofs for KYC and SBT minting emerged as one of the leading sources of gas consumption on the Optimism network, consuming over 30 ETH since July.
Silk Launch: Introducing Silk, a major moment in wallet technology. Now anyone, including grannies, can create an auto-custodial wallet with just an email and a password.
Rewards for Galxe Questers: We introduced an exciting new Galxe quest with special rewards for Fantom ZK SBT minters, fostering community engagement and participation.
Contributing to Public Goods: Holonym's substantial gas usage on Optimism continued to fund public goods through our retroactive funding program, supporting the growth of the ecosystem.
$SQR Airdrop powered by Holonym: Partnering with Gitcoin Passport, Holonym facilitated Magic Square’s airdrop to distribute 1,000,000 $SQR
Humanitarian Airdrop Exploration: We explored the potential of using ZK SBTs for "Humanitarian Airdrops" to underdeveloped regions, aiming to provide direct support to those in need.

In February, our momentum continued with significant developments:

Upgrade and Silk Beta: We announced a major upgrade to Holonym, accompanied by the public beta launch of Silk, aiming to advance web3 adoption significantly.

Humanitarian Airdrop Proposal: We proposed Humanitarian Airdrops to combat Sybil farming, advocating for direct fund transfers to promote economic growth and web3 adoption.
Partnership with WaterDAO: Silk announced a partnership with @_WaterDAO, focusing on enhancing user onboarding experience and supporting water science and governance initiatives.
Silk’s Airdrop of Attendance Proofs for DeSci Summit - Participants of the DeSci Summit in Denver received Quest NFT airdrop, facilitated by Silk. These NFTs were sent directly to their email addresses as a digital proof of attendance, which will be activated upon NFC verification at specified DeSci Summit locations and related sponsor activities.
Building an Attestation-Gated Web3 Forum with Holonym: Built an open source forum that leverages Holonym for sybil resistance, token gating, and voting.
Silk Hacker House Co-Hosted by Ceramic. We welcomed talented developers and engineers from all over the world to take a shot at earning several bounties, totaling up to 10k, with incredible sponsors such as Next.ID, Private AI, Bacalhau, Akash Network, and others.

March saw further innovation and growth:

Holonym v3 Launch: The new protocol upgrade unlocks 10x scalability, stronger security mechanisms for self custody of identity, with improved UX, lower costs, maintaining high rigor, and nurturing plurality in identity verification.
Partnership with NEAR Protocol: Holonym deployed on NEAR protocol through it’s integration with Nada.bot - an identity aggregator that powers Public Goods Funding on NEAR protocol.
ZK Identity Solutions: We expanded our ZK Identity solutions to offer anonymous KYC, whitelisting, and geo-gating, ensuring secure verification processes.
Community Engagement: Our community's active participation on NEAR for quadratic funding continues to drive innovation and growth.
User Feedback: We're listening closely to your feedback to improve our ZK proof verifications within the app for a more user-friendly experience.
Silk passed an intensive Cure53 audit with flying colors, showcasing the superior security of MPC wallet architectures with major UX improvements for mainstream adoption.
100K On-Chain ZKPs: We are thrilled to announce a major milestone in our journey – surpassing 100,000 on-chain zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs)! This remarkable achievement is a testament to the robust security and privacy our platform offers. It's clear that efficient and secure zero-knowledge proofs are in high demand.
